THE CARE home sector has seen further consolidation this week with sale of two more companies by joint administrators. Carestream and Helpcare have both been sold by administrators from FRP Advisory to Care Homes UK.
The sale follows on from the controversy that surrounded the collapse of Southern Cross earlier in the year. The latest sale, by Chris Steven and Ian Vickers from FRP, will secure care home places for 100 residents and more than 100 jobs.
Both Carestream and Helpcare have been managed by FRP for the past three years before the sale was achieved. Steven said: “It shows that going into administration does not always have to mean the end of the road.”
