Administrators former R3 president Peter Sargent and Julian Pitts both from Begbies Traynor have been called to Huddersfield retailer
BEGBIES TRAYNOR administrators have been called to one of Huddersfield best-known retailers Thatcher’s Furnishings.
Peter Sargent and Julian Pitts from Begbies Traynor were appointed joint administrators to the family-run business putting more than 20 jobs at risk, the Huddersfield Examiner reports.
Sargent is the former insolvency trade body R3 president, relinquishing his title in 2010.
“It is sad to see such a well-known, long-standing local retailer go into administration,” he said.
“In recent times, the company has suffered a downturn in trade due to a range of market circumstances.”
Sargent added no guarantee could be given on whether there would be redundancies at the company.
