US pores over auditor independence
US overseers to hold a public meeting to examine auditor independence and professional scepticism
AUDITOR INDEPENDENCE and firm rotation is up for examination by US accountancy oversight body the PCAOB.
The body is calling for public comments on ways to boost independence, objectivity and professional scepticism, and will consider issues such as mandatory firm rotation.
An open meeting will be held on 16 August in Washington DC and a webcast will be available on the PCAOB website.
