Tenth of businesses blame accountants for tax fines

Small businesses less than impressed by their advisors
ONE IN TEN small businesses has incurred a fine from HM Revenue & Customs due to late filing by their accountants.
The survey of 269 businesses by Crunch.co.uk found other gripes with their advisors, including their use of jargon and charging for email and phone call communication.
Almost two-thirds preferred to use an online accounting service, while 14% preferred old-fashioned methods. One fifth of respondents were unhappy with the level of communication from their accountant.
