MICHEL BARNIER, European commissioner for internal markets and services, will tomorrow speak at a Federation of European Accountants (FEE) conference.
US regulator chairman James R Doty will also give a speech at the high-level meeting in Brussels, the fourth such event to address key issues in audit policy in the European Union.
FEE represents 45 accountancy institutes across 33 countries, and its member bodies are present in all 27 EU member states, providing an umbrella network for 500,000 accountants in the region.
Taking place at the National Bank of Belgium, topics covered will include the role and value of audit, as well as a debate on ways to build a European audit market.
