Parent company of Digita and Onesource Thomson Reuters buys South African tax software from Deloitte
DELOITTE HAS SOLD its South African tax software CorpSmart to IT giant Thomson Reuters for an undisclosed sum.
Thomson Reuters currently provides tax technology for organisations around the world including UK used Onesource, and Digita.
“South Africa has created an impressive financial and regulatory structure to position itself as the singular hub for the continent and as such, it rightly has the focus of multinational corporations and other major economic entities around the world,” said Brian Peccarelli, president of the tax & accounting arm of Thomson Reuters.
CorpSmart technology will be integrated into the Onesource product at a later date.
Onesource and Digita are used by accountants in the UK to file their tax returns using new technology iXBRL.
Thomson Reuters snapped up Digita in 2008 and was tasked with boosting its profession service offerings.
