Baker Tilly partner appointed ICAEW tax chairman

BAKER TILLY partner David Heaton is the ICAEW’s new Tax Faculty chairman.

Based in the firm’s Leeds-Bradford office, Heaton will serve the institute for two years, representing it in talks with HMRC and contributing to strategy development.

Previously chairman of the Employment Taxes and NIC Committee, he said there are “significant changes in the offing for the UK tax system”.

“The faculty aims to support its members and offer useful and creative feedback and advice to government, ensuring that the evolving system supports the needs of all UK-based businesses and individuals,” he added.
