    Deloitte new auditors at Mitchells & Butler

    Incumbent E&Y decides against taking part in tendering process at pub chain

    PUB CHAIN Mitchells & Butler has a new auditor after Ernst & Young quit the role.

    In a statement to the Stock Exchange, M&B announced that Deloitte had been chosen as its auditor following a competitive process.

    A statutory filing to Companies House by E&Y said that it decided against taking part in the tender process because it felt that it would have been unlikely to succeed.

    The pub chain has faced a long-running battle for control of the business, with a new board put in place by shareholder Joe Lewis.
