PA at Birmingham office jailed over false expense claims

A PA at PwC’s Birmingham office has been jailed for nine months after falsely claiming expenses totaling £33,000.

The Birmingham Mail reports that Angela Jayne Tilling, 44, made false claims involving more than £2,000 for a staff lunch and a similar sum on a conference for the firm. Another false claim related to 60 theatre tickets.

The court also heard that Tilling fraudulently transferred money to pay for a celebrity appearance at a Christmas party.

Tilling was suspended in March 2008 after an internal investigation and was then arrested by police in January 2009.
