Jones to take ICAEW vice president's role
THE NEW ICAEW vice president is Deloitte’s audit expert Martyn Jones.
Jones, national audit technical partner at Deloitte, takes office on 8 June and will be nominated president in June 2013.
He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1976 and has worked with a wide variety of businesses, as well as with the public sector and charities. Jones is chairman of Deloitte’s corporate governance services group, a member of the DTTL global audit technical advisory board and the CBI companies committee.
Jones campaigned for the true and fair view concept to be embedded in international audit reporting, alongside IASB chairman Sir David Tweedie.
“Martyn has played a significant role within ICAEW as a member of council as well as a chair of our ethics standards committee and a member of our technical strategy board. I look forward to working with him in his new role in the coming months,” said Gerald Russell, ICAEW president.
