Leonard Curtis administrators agree sale of Stockport County after Football League approves new owners
The sale of Stockport County by its administrators has been approved by the
Football League.
The League approved the transfer of the Football League share to the 2015
Group. Following that approval, the sale to 2015 could be completed. The share
is effectively membership into that league.
“This is clearly excellent news and an outcome that the team at Leonard
Curtis have worked hard to secure over many months,” said the joint
administrators.
“We would like to extend our thanks to the players, staff, fans and suppliers
who have supported the Club during a very difficult 13 months and wish the 2015
Group and all those associated with the Club every success for the future.”
The administrators had previously defended themselves against claims by
Stockport supports about the level of fees they had charged.
A protest by fans passed LC’s offices in Deansgate, Manchester, on 23
December 2009.
