Deloitte's administrators announce mass job losses across Jarvis businesses
Hundreds of redundancies have been announced at rail infrastructure business
Jarvis.
Administrators from
Deloitte said
that around 1,100 jobs would go across Jarvis plc, Jarvis Rail Limited and
Fastline Limited.
The redundancies have taken place at the head office in York, plus other key
sites including Doncaster, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle and Peterborough.
The facilities management part of the group known as Jarvis Accommodation
Services (JAS) Limited continues to trade as normal while in administration.
Deloitte’s joint administrators Neville Kahn, Nick Edwards, Phil Bowers and
Ian Brown, said there was a significant amount of interest in this part of the
company.
Jarvis had employed around 2,000 staff. The majority of the remaining staff
are based in JAS.
