LSE worries about FRC lobbying efforts at European level
Proposals to place the UK Listing Authority in the care of the Financial
Reporting Council has led to fears the move may erode London’s competitiveness,
City AM
reports.
The London Stock Exchange is reportedly fighting the proposals, being
considered as part of the shakeup of city regulation by the Treasury.
The LSE fears the FRC will fail to influence the European Securities and
Markets Authority, which will regulate listed markets across Europe.
