Closed life funds business recruits Jonathan Yates
Jonathan Yates is joining Phoenix Group holdings as its group finance
director designate. He takes the full FD role in Q3 2010 when Simon Smith steps
down.
Yates is a qualified actuary, who served as FD and then chief executive of
Life Assurance Holding Corporation between 2002 and 2009.
Phoenix has also appointed Rashmin Shah as group treasurer and Paul Miles as
deputy finance director, both of whom will join in early July.
Simon Smith, group finance director of Phoenix, said: “I have had twelve
transaction-filled years with this business and having now completed the
necessary preparations for Phoenix’s premium listing on the LSE, I think this is
the natural moment for me to move on to something new.”
Phoenix Group is the UK’s largest consolidator of closed life funds with 6.5m
policyholders and £67bn of assets under management.
