Former Portman Building Society FD Glyn Smith joins Coventry Building Society

Coventry
Building Society
has appointed chartered accountant Glyn Smith as a
non-executive director.

Smith has more than 30 years experience in the financial services sector, as
an executive at Barclays bank and as FD of the Portman Building Society.

He has served as a non-executive with Stroud & Swindon Building Society,
which has merged with Coventry Building Society.

“I believe that Glyn will help us to maintain the strength and independence
of the board, challenge the society’s management team whilst sharing its values
and ambition, and make a positive contribution to the future strategy and
