Budget 2000: Childrens tax credit up and income tax down

As already announced, the basic rate of income tax will fall to 22% from 23% from April 6.

The childrens tax credit will increase to 442 pounds, from 416 pounds. He said this would be worth twice as much as the old married couples’ allowance.
