It has taken administrators Deloitte less than 24 hours to sell battling high
street sandwich chain Benjys. The budget food group was placed in administration
today, but was sold off to private equity group Hamilton Bradshaw before the
close of play.
Benjys has struggled to to cope with difficult trading conditions and has
been plagued by ongoing litigation.
Deloitte’s Nick Edwards, who was appoitned as co-administrator with colleague
Lee Manning, said the sale of the group would provide a ‘stable
platform for the business to prosper in the future’.
Hamilton Bradshaw will now be responsible for running Benjys
into the future.
Deloitte would not comment on the details of the rapid
administration and sale of the group.
