    E&Y scores top of US firms' survey

    Ernst & Young has been voted the US accounting profession's best firm.

    The Big Five giant came top of a poll conduced by CPA Personnel among accounting academics.

    US professors were asked to grade accountancy’s most dominant firms and E&Y beat off the competition from the rest of the Big Five. They were questioned over firms’ business success, client service quality, technical reputation, training, career opportunities and the all-important work-life balance, according to a report on the Electronic Accountant website.

    E&Y scored well on outlook for business success and voters also rated the firm highly for its speedy disposal of its consulting wing to Cap Gemini.
