Deloitte enlists global tax head for no.1 role

Deloitte aims for market leadership in tax expertise in financial services with the latest appointment to its global head of tax executive

Ellie Patsalos, a tax partner in the Deloitte’s global employer solutions
group, has been enlisted to make
Deloitte
market leader in tax expertise in financial services, as Deloitte’s newly
appointed global tax executive for the financial services industry.

Patsalos is the first woman to be appointed to Deloitte’s global tax
executive and has also recently been named as a vice chairperson of the UK firm.

She also heads up the UK financial services tax team and has more than 25
years experience, specialising in international compensation and tax consulting
for senior executives at major financial services organisations.

Alberto Terol, Deloitte global head of tax, said Deloitte had a clear
ambition to be ‘the number one tax adviser to financial institutions’. ‘Our
global financial services tax practice is already a $US1bn (?500,000) business,
growing 30% year on year. Under Ellie’s leadership we are confident of further
growth and success.’
