Berkshire firm loses company auditor status

Elaine Pleace Associates, a firm based in Maidenhead, has had its registration as company auditor withdrawn by the ICAEW.

Under powers contained in the audit regulations and guidance, the institute’s audit registration committee withdrew the registration of Elaine Pleace Associates for failure to ‘co-operate with the ICAEW or to submit the annual return by the due date’.

The decision was taken on the 8 August 2003.

Elaine Pleace Associates is based at Thames Cottage, Old Mill Lane, Bray in Maidenhead, SL6 2BD.

Elaine Pleace told AccountancyAge.com that she would be appealing against the decision as it ‘was not justified’.
