Put together by the Business Applications Software Developers Association, the booklet called Upgrading ? Why, When & How? has been produced to help software users who are losing out on improvements in software and technological advances because they do not upgrade often enough.
Dennis Keeling, BASDA chief executive, said: ‘Too many users have been put off upgrading by scare stories. The fact is that good software maintenance and free upgrades make regular upgrading the most sensible and easy option for most organisations.’
Keeling also pointed to the imminent arrival of international accounting standards which will force these changes on companies.
If such upgrades are not properly planned, they will be seen to be a chore instead of a sensible improvement, Keeling added.
