Boardroom shakeup at computer games business sees newly promoted FD moved up to CEO
SCi Entertainment has promoted its finance director to CEO in a boardroom
shakeup.
The company, famous for publishing computer game Tomb Raider, promoted FD
Phil Rogers to the top role following the departure of Jane Cavanagh. Publishing
MD Bill Ennis and studios MD Rob Murphy also stepped down for their roles.
Rogers has only served at the company for ten months, joining as corporate
development director last March and promoted to FD in September.
‘In Phil Rogers, SCi has a high-quality industry professional, whose past
experience will be enormously valuable to the future of the business,’ said
chairman Tim Ryan.
The company has struggled in its attempt to find a buyer, and is now looking
towards refinancing.
‘Led by Phil, the board has already commenced a root and branch review of the
company’s strategy and will report back to shareholders on our findings and
recommendations within our clear timetable,’ Ryan added.
Malcolm Dunne takes on the CFO role on an interim basis. Dunne has held
senior finance positions at Electronic Arts, Capcom and SCi predecessor Eidos.
SCi’s share price climbed this morning by 11.5p to 59.5p following the
