New share index goes live today.
Accountancy-related shares are underperforming the FTSE-100 index, according to the new Accountancy Age/ADVFN share index.
The index, launched this week in partnership with ADVFN, one of the UK’s leading private investor sites, plots the fortunes of ten accountancy-related shares. It includes recruiters Robert Walters and Reed, IT companies Sage and Misys and business services company Capita. Despite a 3.4% gain in the FTSE-100 in the week to 29 March, the Accountancy Age/ADVFN index finished in the red – down over 1% on the start of the week.
The index will run each week on Accountancy Age’s Business Week page.
ADVFN, named best private investor website at the UK Equity Awards earlier this year, will also provide full shares data for AccountancyAge.com.
