First National to lend 'UK 200' £200m

First National, the business finance branch of the Abbey National Group,has estimated it will provide new partners of the UK 200 Accountancy Group with up to £200m in business funding in a bid to expand its local and regional business.

Financial experts at First National will provide the UK Accountancy Group withasset finance, factoring, invoice discounting and commerical mortgages.

David Stewart, executive director of the business finance division, said thepartnership would help the group build stronger links with accountants.

He said: ‘We’re interested in putting together solutions for our customers toensure they get the most for their finance.’

The UK 200 Group is the largest mutual association in the country, with 175accountancy firms as members.

David Turnbull, chief executive of UK 200, said: ‘All our partners go through anapproval procedure, giving customers the reassurance that the servicesrecommended by our members offer excellent quality at competitive rates.’
