Rates left unchanged

Bank holds interest rates at 5.25%

The Bank
of England’s Monetary Policy Committee
has voted to leave interest rates
unchanged at 5.25% .

Many in the City still expect there to be another rate rise in the next few
months.

UK inflation fell to 2.7% last month, down from an 11-year high of 3%, but it
is still well above the target of 2%.

There have been three rate rises of a quarter point each since last summer:
in August, November and January.
