UK sweetmaking trio enter administration
PwC called in at Mr Lucky Bags, Stockleys Sweets and Teepee Creative
PwC called in at Mr Lucky Bags, Stockleys Sweets and Teepee Creative
Three sweetmakers have entered administration, PricewaterhouseCoopers has
announced.
Stuart Maddison and Steve Ellis have been appointed as joint administrators
of Mr Lucky Bags, Stockleys Sweets and Teepee Creative, the firm said today.
Teepee a manufacturer and distributor of branded toys and gifts, has already
been sold to Bon Bon Buddies ltd, in a pre-packaged administration deal.
The companies had found trading particularly difficult following the downturn
in the retail sector.
Two subsidiaries of Mr Lucky Bags – Dovedale Confectionery and Toontastic
Publishing – have not been placed in administration and continue to be run as
going concerns.
PwC partner Stuart Maddison said: “This sale demonstrates that in the right
circumstances, a pre-packaged administration following an extensive accelerated
marketing process can provide real stability to a brand.”
