Deloitte US receives green light for BearingPoint

Firm gains approval from Bankruptcy Court to grab public services practice

Deloitte in the US has been granted approval from the United States
Bankruptcy Court in New York to buy BearingPoint’s North American public
services practice for $350m in cash.

Suject to anti-trust clearances, the sale is expected to be tied up in May.
When complete, Deloitte will have acquired the bulk of BearingPoint’s Federal
Government projects.

The purchase also includes projects in healthcare, emerging markets, state
and local government services as well as in education. Around 4,250 BearingPoint
employees will move over to Deloitte.
