Accountants move in high places and Naomi Sharma, senior manager of corporate finance at Grant Thornton, has just proved exactly that - quite literally.
For while Sharma moves in the upper echelons of business she has proved she is a dab hand at high altitude mountain climbing as well as scaling company ladders. Topping out at 19,341ft Sharma recently summitted Mount Kilimanjaro, with a charity team. However, her travails were as wearisome as a bankrupt’s balance sheet. First the team’s luggage all went missing leaving them to wear the same clothes for days on end. Then, to add insult to injury the portaloo disappeared and TS knows there are no executive washrooms on the mountain.
