Duties for Matalan FD begin early
Phil Dutton, the former finance director at supermarket giant Asda, will take on the position as group FD at discount clothes retailer Matalan earlier than first stated.

Dutton assumes the post left by Ian Smith, who resigned from the company earlier than expected. He also joins Matalan’s board.
In a statement, the company said the handover period had gone well and Dutton would now take up the role with immediate effect, instead of at the end of the financial year.
John Hargreaves, chairman of Matalan said:commented: ‘I welcome Phil to the Board and look forward to his contributing to our efforts to realise the full potential of the Matalan business.’
