Buckingham Palace FD to face the PAC

Buckingham Palace's group finance director is to face the Public Accounts Committee next month.

Fifty-one year-old Sir Michael Peat – the first ever accountant to fill the role of keeper of the privy purse – will have to answer the committee’s questions on the maintenance of the Royal finances.

The PAC is the most influential parliamentary select committee and is led by Conservative MP David Davis.

The Queen’s annual expenses were revealed in detail for the first time this year, partially bringing to an end centuries of mystery.
