EU begins top tax training for Serbia

Training for hundreds of officials in Serbia's often hard-pressed tax administration will begin imminently in a state-of-the-art instruction centre, the European Union's European Agency for Reconstruction has announced.

The Belgrade lecture centre and attached reference library is part of four such centres being funded by a €13.4m EU programme, said the agency.

The library will also be open to tax payers wanting more information about paying taxes, which Serb citizens are often keen to avoid. Two other tax-training centres have already been opened in Novi Sad and Nis, while a fourth will be opened in Kragujevac in September.
