Softworld Autumn 2005: Epicor streamlines Backroads' finance and operational functions

Epicor has won a deal to manage and streamline the financial
and operational functions of Backroads, an ‘active travel’ company.

Backroads chose Epicor over Great Plains, Navision, Solomon
and MAS 500, particularly for its multi company and multi-currency
functionality.

‘The Epicor solution will assist us in better budgeting and
tracking trip costs through comprehensive project accounting functionality,’
said Karen Bennett, vice president of finance at Backroads.

Epicor has also announced plans to provide some of its
technology to clients through the internet, using Microsoft .NET functionality.

In addition, Epicor Portal will deliver data exploration and
collaboration using Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office
SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
