Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu appoints John Connolly as global chairman
The
Deloitte
Touche Tohmatsu Board has appointmented UK senior partner and chief
executive,
John
Connolly , as the new global chairman.
The Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu board also approved the nomination of James
Quigley, currently US firm chief executive officer, as the next Global CEO. Both
appointments will be effective from 1 June 2007.
Outgoing chairman
Piet
Hoogendoorn said: ‘I am very proud that we have two great partners
to assume these leadership roles. They have the experience to continue the
strong level of performance and governance expected in today’s environment.’
Hoogendoorn praised Connolly’s ‘remarkable achievements’ as Deloitte’s UK
chief executive: ‘His role as global managing director and his leadership
skills, give him the right experience to take on this role’.
Connolly said the appointment a wonderful reward for spending his entire
career at Deloitte.
He said: ‘I’m delighted to take on this role. I have spent my entire working
life with the firm and it’s a huge privilege to be chairman of the global board.
Connolly was recently re-elected to be Deloitte UK senior partner and chief
executive through until 2011 and he will continue in this role.
