KPMG-trained chartered accountant Gary Hargreaves was most recently director of finance and IT at Southalls Hygiene Services Limited.
The £113m Millennium Point is a 12-acre complex that will include a Discovery Centre museum, a Technology Innovation Centre and a ‘University of the First Age’, as well as an IMAX widescreen cinema and a central building. It is due to open in September 2001.
Hargreaves said: ‘Millennium Point is leading the regeneration of Birmingham’s Eastside, and this is an exciting time to get involved as we prepare for launch next year.’
Millennium Point is funded by £50m from the Millennium Commission, £25.6m from the European Regional Development Fund, £5.9m from English Partnerships and £32.1m from partnership and commercial investment/bank borrowing and sponsorship.
