According to the Civil Aviation Authority’s survey, 12.1% of British business travellers and 11.5% of international business travellers using Heathrow Airport said company matters were the reason for their travels, by far the most common response.

Findings for Gatwick and Manchester airports were largely similar, but commuters using Luton and Standsted, (the domain of predominantly low-cost airlines) were travelling to meet clients, suggesting that budget fares are attracting small companies scrapping for export orders.
