Big Four firm finds room for more than 50 people in its busy reorganisation arm
Deloitte has announced that 52 staff from its corporate finance arm have been
placed in its reorganisation division which handles company collapses and
restructuring.
The firm said recently that it would be offering
staff
in selected business areas voluntary options to leave but has also succeded
in efforts to re-deploy staff to other parts of the business.
Aidan Birkett, Deloitte’s managing director for corporate finance, said:
‘Given current economic conditions we are seeing increased demand in our
Reorganisation Services practice and to support this growth and reinforce our
position in the market we have bolstered the team with significant new
resource.’
Corporate finance divisions across the profession have been severely affected
by the tough economic conditions as M&A deal activity has nosedived.
John Connolly, senior partner and chief executive, said: ‘We are committed to
ensuring that we consistently deliver quality services to our clients which
reflect their needs in what are now undoubtedly challenging times for
businesses.’
