Departure of finance head Jay Walder leaves room up top at Transport for London, with possibility of role being split between finance and planning
TFL has hinted that departing finance head Jay Walder’s role will be split in
two, suggesting simultaneously that internal candidates were in the frame to
fill the role.
Walder is moving to McKinsey in February next year, triggering speculation
over the likely replacement.
‘Jay has got a couple of very able deputies,’ said a spokesperson for the
body.
‘Whether we’re looking internally or externally it’s probably too early to
say for definite, but it all depends on the type of role our commissioner Peter
Hendy sees unfolding. As with any large organisation, when a senior figure goes
there are people underneath them who can keep things running.’
TfL, currently delivering a £10bn investment programme, hinted the role may
be split between finance and planning.
