ebookers gets new CFO

Online travel specialist, ebookers, has announced the appointment ofNigel Addison Smith as its new chief financial officer

Smith joins from another listed travel company, First Choice Holidays,where he was finance director of its charter airline division, Air 2000and Viking Aviation. He will take on a board position at ebookers.

A chartered accountant, Smith formerly spent seven years at KPMG. Hereplaces Navneet Bali, who left the company by ‘mutual consent’ to?pursue other business interests? at the end of the financial year.

Dinesh Dhamija, chief executive officer at ebookers said the appointmentof Smith and new chief information officer Philip Dale would furtherstrengthen the travel expertise of its senior management.

He said of Smith: ‘His experience in driving out costs, better buyingand acquisition integration will all be extremely valuable assets toebookers.’
