Europe's leading software and e-business event for the accounting and finance profession is sponsored by Accountancy Age and promises to be a huge gathering with more than 90 leading software providers exhibiting.     approaching half a million pounds have convinced Leeds City Council to extend its use of Siebel’s ebusiness software.

    The council, by using Siebel’s eGovernment software and by removing paper-based systems, has seen overall costs reduced by £450,000. But implementation was not easy. Part of the challenge was to integrate with five bespoke back office legacy systems, said Bryan Craven, senior project manager at the Council. Many of these were built on Bull mainframe technology, and required ‘considerable’ effort, he said.
