Professional Oversight Board teams up with institutes to study auditor training
A review of the training received by trainee auditors has been launched by
the Professional Oversight Board and ACCA, ICAEW, ICAI and ICAS.
The review, which will be conducted by Professor Neil Marriott and a team of
researchers from the University of Glamorgan, will probe the practical training
requirements of the professional bodies authorised to train and supervise
auditors, and how they authorise and monitor firms that train audit students.
Other issues to be investigated include student training record requirements
and what students think of the quality of training and exams.
