    Alison Reed gets nod at Standard Life

    Life company formalises appointment of former M&S FD

    Alison Reed has been formally appointed as Standard Life’s new finance director.

    The move had been widely trailed, but not confirmed until today.

    A chartered accountant by training, Reed was at Marks & Spencer as finance director until being ousted in November of last year.

    Standard Life is currently preparing for demutualisation. The group said today that John Hylands, its current group finance director, will continue to lead the demutualisation project.

    Reed is to take up the post in June.
