US accounting regulator, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, has
hired Martin Baumann, the former chief financial officer of government-backed
mortgage lender Freddie Mac, as its new deputy director in the office of
research and analysis.
Baumann, led the completion of Freddie Mac’s recent earnings restatement.
Prior to working at Freddie Mac, he spent 30 years at the Big Four firm PwC.
In his new role at the PCAOB, Baumann will manage the monitoring and analysis
accounting and auditing principles and related regulatory changes that affect
specific companies and industries.
