Finance director of Signet Jewelers is brought onto board of stationery giant
Walker Boyd, the finance chief of the world’s largest specialty retail
jeweler has been parachuted onto the board of WHSmith.
Boyd, currently FD of Signet Jewelers Limited, which operates as H.Samuel,
Ernest Jones and Leslie Davis in the UK, will be appointed as a Non- Executive
Director of WH Smith Plc with effect from 1 February 2010.
He has taken the NED appointment as he prepares to retire from Signet next
June after being crowned FD in 1995.
WHSmith’s chairman Robert Walker said: “We are delighted to welcome Walker
Boyd back to WHSmith. With his extensive retail and finance experience,
Walker will be a valuable member of the board.”
