Xansa to be sold to French group

Xansa, the accounting and IT outsourcing
group, is to be sold to French IT service provider
Steria in a deal worth around £472m.

In April, Xansa signed a £19m deal to provide accounting services to the
NHS, while it has also agreed an £85m deal with
the BBC.

The news though was not well received by the market, with shares falling as
much as 10% on fears the offer was too high.

The combined company would rank among the top 10 in its sector in Europe with
revenues in excess of £1.2bn
