Freshbake’s Hartlepool-based confectionery manufacturing business, which supplies puddings to the retail and food service sectors, was transferred to Bonne Bouche on 23 July.
But the management buy-out team behind Bonne Bouche was not entirely new: it was led by Wayne Hitchman, sales director of Freshbake. The 300-strong workforce was transferred to the new company.
Hitchman pledged the company would be at the forefront of providing ‘unique and exciting’ desserts.
Russell Cash, joint administrative receiver, said: ‘We would like to thank the suppliers, customers and especially the employees for their support and co-operation during the last month, which enabled us to continue to trade and achieve a successful sale of the business.’
