Fashion house to enter top flight index
Stacey Cartwright is set become the FTSE 100’s newest finance chief when
Burberry, the luxury fashion house, enters the index this week.
Burberry is set to take its place among the top 100 companies when Thomson
Reuters delists.
Cartwright has been CFO at Burberry since 2004 and was CFO at Egg before
that. Prior to joining the online bank she held various finance positions at
Granada.
For the 12 months to March 2009 Burberry recorded a pre-tax loss of £6m on a
turnover up 21% to £1.2bn.
Cartwright was reported at the time saying things were “very uncertain.”
The first quarter this year to the end of June saw sales drop 4%, based on
constant currency prices, while an 8% rise was recorded once currency
fluctuations were accounted for.
