Blewitt to raise awareness about IAS
The new chief executive of ACCA has put raising corporate awareness of international accounting standards at the top of his agenda.

Blewitt was appointed to the post earlier this week, finally resolving what has been an embarrassing 18 month search for someone to replace Anthea Rose.
A native Australian, Blewitt comes from an academic background and has no accountancy qualification.
Speaking to the FT, Blewitt also said restoring public trust in the profession would be another of his key priorities. ‘Rebuilding trust in the profession is a slow process. I do not see it as an overnight magic bullet type fix.’
He also backed independent regulation of the profession and suggested that regulatory responses to financial scandals in the US had been too strong.
