Much was made of Andersen's decision earlier this year to drop old Arthur from its famous moniker.
To commemorate the event, all 77,000 employees were offered a choice of a golf shirt, laptop carry-case or personal organiser holder – all branded with the firm’s new logo.
But US-based staff found the gesture so derisory, they produced their very own Andersen gift catalogue. The spoof directory features a branded assault rifle to blow away your rivals and a Andersen laptop ‘computer’ which looks uncannily like an abacus. But TS was most amused by a plunger – to fix ‘blocked workflows in the business environment’. We were unaware the firm had such a large backlog.
