Charity Commission's chief highlights need for co-operation with Charity Finance Director's Group

Chief Charity Commissioner John Stoker emphasised the need for co-operation with umbrella bodies such as the Charity Finance Director's Group at the launch of the Finance Directors Yearbook 2000 earlier today.

Stoker outlined the shared interests of the charity sector’s regulator and organisations such as the Director’s Group, which are best placed to offer leadership, advice and examples of current best practice.’Charity is a huge and diverse area and it clearly makes sense of the Charity Commission to work as closely and constructively as it can with those in the sector itself.

‘While giving advice and developing better methods of administration are areas where the Commission is keen to lead, there are also opportunities for partnership.

‘I want this co-operation to become even more of a hallmark of the Commission’s mode of operation,’ he said.
