Businesses at risk from poor quality data
Consultants are warning that poor quality information from the finance function can have serious consequences for the survival of one's business.
Consultants are warning that poor quality information from the finance function can have serious consequences for the survival of one's business.
This will be the message delivered by Bettina Pickering of PA Consulting Group during a masterclass session at this year’s Softworld Accounting & Finance event.
According to Pickering, a lack of accurate and reliable information across an enterprise is costly and leads to poor quality decisions and a real reduction in corporation value.
‘Finance is ideally placed to take the lead in delivering enterprise-wide quality data that will act as the bedrock to management decision making’ Pickering said.
‘However, finance needs to be able to understand and measure the value drivers across the business to help inform and justify business strategy. Finance also needs to be able to help businesses deliver value by translating strategies into measurable, motivating targets.’
